Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to support urgent care centers with patient check-in, vitals, specimen handling, and room prep. You will work under an urgent care provider, ensuring a smooth patient experience.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, MA program training, and BLS; various MA certifications are accepted. Training is provided, and onsite growth opportunities are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• MA certifications (CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA) or equivalent accepted.
• CPOE certification within two weeks of start date.
• LMN nursing/LPN/RN accepted in lieu of MA

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Answer questions and update patients on status.
• Prepare patients for examination and document medical history.
• Perform vital signs and point-of-care testing as needed.
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms and front desk.
• Maintain medical records and scan charts.
• Open/close duties and secure the building.
• Document daily QA logs and report issues.
