Job summary

Hartford HealthCare-GoHealthUrgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support urgent care operations. You will handle patient check-in, vitals, specimen collection, and room preparation under a provider’s direction.

Required to have a High School Diploma; Medical Assisting program preferred; BLS at hire; MA certifications or acceptable alternatives listed above. Opportunities for growth and a strong benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through ARC or AHA.
• Certification: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA or equivalent acceptable.
• In lieu of MA certification, 1+ year MA experience in hospital/urgent care or phlebotomy may be accepted.
• CPOE certification required within two weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Answer patient questions and communicate status to patients.
