Job summary

ChristianaCare-GoHealth Urgent Care is hiring a Medical Assistant in Delaware/New Castle. The role involves patient check-in, vital signs, specimen collection, and assisting providers in urgent care settings.

You will handle registrations, vaccinations where applicable, and ensure accurate charting while maintaining a compassionate patient experience. Growth opportunities and team support are emphasized in a collaborative care environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• MA certifications (CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA) preferred or eligible.
• CPOE certification required within two weeks of start date.
• Nursing or LPN/RN degrees acceptable in lieu of MA certification.
• EMT certification accepted.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance information.
• Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to Specialists.
• Interview patients and record medical history.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain supplies.
• Document medical records and chart patient information.
• Perform courtesy follow-up calls to patients.
