Job summary

Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and front office operations in a fast-paced urgent care setting in Northern Virginia. You will work closely with providers to ensure efficient patient flow and a welcoming experience for every patient.

The role requires a High School Diploma, at least 1 year of MA experience, and a current BLS certification. Experience with EMR/CPOE and front desk tasks is valued, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at time of hire) through AHA or ARC
• Certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire if not already certified
• Alternative credentials accepted: LPN/RN, EMT/Paramedic, CNA

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic, insurance, and eligibility information
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling
• Prepare patients for examination by taking medical history and documenting in the medical record
• Measure and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, height, weight)
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, UA, EKG, pregnancy) and report results
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis
• Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms; monitor inventory
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record system
• Support front desk duties including phone management and patient communication
• Conduct patient follow-up calls as needed
• Complete opening/closing duties and end-of-day reconciliation
• Perform equipment checks, quality control, and troubleshooting
• Follow clinical, safety, and organizational policies
