Job summary

Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to float across clinics in Northern Virginia, supporting both clinical and front-office operations. You will work closely with providers to ensure smooth patient flow and a positive experience.

The role requires 1 year of MA experience, BLS certification, and CPR/AED knowledge. You will assist with registrations, vitals, tests, blood draws, and patient communication in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire (AHA/ARC).
• Certification options include CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographics, insurance, eligibility.
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling.
• Prepare patients for examination and document medical history.
• Measure and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, height, weight).
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, UA, EKG, pregnancy).
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Prepare, clean, stock exam rooms; monitor inventory.
• Maintain accurate documentation in medical records.
• Support front desk: phone management and patient communication.
• Conduct patient follow-up calls as needed.
• Open/close duties including cash handling and reconciliation.
• Perform equipment checks and quality control.
