Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care, in partnership with Inova, seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical and front-office operations across Northern Virginia. You will ensure smooth patient flow, accurate charting, and efficient room turnover, contributing to high-quality care in a busy urgent care setting.

You will perform vital signs, specimen collection, point-of-care tests, and front-desk support while maintaining patient-centered communication and meticulous documentation in the medical record.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at time of hire).
• BLS must be obtained through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic, insurance, and eligibility information.
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling.
• Prepare patients for examination by obtaining medical history and documenting in the medical record.
• Measure and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, height, weight).
• Perform point-of-care testing (flu, strep, UA, EKG, pregnancy) and report results.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Maintain exam rooms; monitor inventory; ensure cleanliness and readiness.
• Support front desk tasks: phone management and patient communication.
• Complete opening/closing duties and end-of-day reconciliation.
• Follow policies; perform additional duties as assigned.
