Qualifications

• High school or GED graduation required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Thorough education or training in medical terminology.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.

• Active listener who can analyze and respond appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Travel to various clinics as needed, adapting quickly to different clinic environments and procedures while maintaining a high standard of care.
• Assist in coordinating and conducting patient care from pre-visit through post-visit.
• Obtaining medical histories and recording vital signs.
• Use motivational techniques to engage patients in self-care while interviewing.
• Document patient data accurately in NextGen EHR with essential information.
• Explain treatment procedures clearly to patients using effective communication.
• Assist physician during examinations and procedures; handle instruments and administer injections or dressings as directed.
• Prepare and process laboratory specimens; perform CLIA Waived tests on site.
• Prepare treatment rooms, keep them stocked and clean.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment following infection control protocols.
• Perform other clinical functions as delegated by the physician.
• Engage in ongoing self-education to enhance clinical skills.
