Job summary

Carbon Health in Palm Desert, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant to thrive in a fast-paced, paperless urgent care setting. You will take vitals, room patients, assist with procedures, and handle front desk duties while delivering patient-centered care.

The role requires a high school diploma, MA certification, current BLS, and a willingness to pursue DOT certification; 1+ year experience preferred and phlebotomy experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program (except in locations where exempt with experience/diploma/national certification).
• Current BLS certification, willingness to obtain DOT certification.
• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Great communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, patient history and triage.
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care.
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes; perform ear lavages and run EKGs.
• Conduct lab testing such as urinalysis, pregnancy tests, glucose, monospot, rapid strep and flu tests, HIV tests.
• Manage the front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed.
• Complete training and become DOT-certified to perform urine drug screens and breath alcohol tests.
