Job summary

High Desert Medical Group in Lancaster, CA is seeking a full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for our Urgent Care. The LVN will provide direct patient care in compliance with the California Nurse Practice Act and support fast-paced clinical operations.

Responsibilities include administering medications, initiating IV access, drawing blood, documenting in EMR, maintaining patient flow, and assisting with CMAs and training.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current California LVN license.
• Current IV certification.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Two years ER/Urgent Care experience within the last 5 years preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skils.
• Ability to handle and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and productivity goals.

Responsibilities

• Provides general nursing care, such as administering medications and initiating IV access.
• Operates required medical equipment (ECG, monitors, glucometer, vital signs).
• Assists in preparing patients for procedures and documenting in EMR.
• Maintain patient flow, safety, and confidentiality.
• Supervise CMAs and participate in nursing education and QI initiatives.
• Handle narcotics responsibilities and maintain crash cart readiness.
