Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or medical assistant program.
• Current LPN license in the State of Indiana. Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant.
• Has general knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Has been educated in basic pharmacology and the administration of medications.
• CPR provider certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to patients as directed by the provider utilizing the nursing process.
• Performs patient access functions.
• Greets patients on arrival and registers patient data.
• Admits patients, taking brief history and vitals.
• Performs procedure setup and assists provider as indicated.
• Discharges patient with prescriptions/instructions and documents in patient’s chart.
• Maintains adequate medical supply and medication inventory.
• Schedules surgeries or referrals and attains prior authorizations when needed.
• Provides patient education and instruction information.
