Job summary

SEARHC is seeking a Clinical Assistant 2 for an Urgent Care setting in Juneau, AK. The role supports infants to elderly patients, ensuring smooth clinic operations and optimal patient flow.

The position requires rotating shifts, BLS certification, and competency in basic clinical tasks with rooming and specimen handling. The team emphasizes comprehensive patient care, documentation, and collaboration with providers to deliver timely access to care in a rural ambulatory clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Clinical Competency due within 3 months of hire and every 3 years.
• Experience as CA 1 with SEARHC or CNA/EMT/CHA or other healthcare roles with customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for visits by reviewing charts and needed forms.
• Obtains and records vital signs and medical history updates.
• Transports patients and maintains clinic flow during visits.
• Assists with procedures and minor office surgeries as directed.
• Operates and maintains medical equipment and EMR documentation.
• Provides basic patient education and discharge instructions; assists with rooming.
