Job summary

Carson Tahoe Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Clinician to join its Urgent Care APC team. You will provide patient care across Carson City, Daytona, and Minden locations, under physician collaboration, leading in clinic settings.

The role involves taking histories, performing exams, ordering tests, prescriptions, minor procedures, and coordinating referrals with strong EHR documentation. Full-time hours with coverage across locations are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from accredited school as approved by the Nevada State Board of Nursing for Advanced Practitioner of Nursing or ARC-PA accredited PA program.
• AANP board certification or NCCPA certification.
• Active Nevada APN or PA licensure.
• DEA licensure and Nevada controlled substance license.
• Medical staff privileges at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and perform physical examinations with diagnostic techniques.
• Evaluate signs and history to assess condition; document for physician review.
• Order labs and imaging, prescribe meds, and discuss treatment options.
• Perform minor surgical procedures like incisions and drain abscesses.
• Analyze test results and provide follow-up treatments as needed.
• Refer patients to other physicians or facilities per procedures.
• Ensure all docs and prescriptions go through the EHR.
• Complete chart notes within two business days.
• Respond to patient portal messages within two business days.
• Attend meetings during non-patient hours as requested.
• Arrange coverage for in-basket messages when on leave.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
