Carson Tahoe Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Clinician to join its Urgent Care APC team. You will provide patient care across Carson City, Daytona, and Minden locations, under physician collaboration, leading in clinic settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate from accredited school as approved by the Nevada State Board of Nursing for Advanced Practitioner of Nursing or ARC-PA accredited PA program.
• AANP board certification or NCCPA certification.
• Active Nevada APN or PA licensure.
• DEA licensure and Nevada controlled substance license.
• Medical staff privileges at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and perform physical examinations with diagnostic techniques.
• Evaluate signs and history to assess condition; document for physician review.
• Order labs and imaging, prescribe meds, and discuss treatment options.
• Perform minor surgical procedures like incisions and drain abscesses.
• Analyze test results and provide follow-up treatments as needed.
• Refer patients to other physicians or facilities per procedures.
• Ensure all docs and prescriptions go through the EHR.
• Complete chart notes within two business days.
• Respond to patient portal messages within two business days.
• Attend meetings during non-patient hours as requested.
• Arrange coverage for in-basket messages when on leave.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Advanced Practice Clinician provides collaborative care within the community by navigating patients through the healthcare system. As a provider, and in collaboration with physician, Advanced Practice Clinician is seen as a leader within the team structure established in the clinic setting.

Carson Tahoe Health’s Urgent Care APC team provides care across three Northern Nevada locations: Carson City, Daytona, and Minden. APCs will provide coverage at all three Urgent Care locations , with scheduling designed to support operational needs across the system. This multi-location model offers variety in practice setting while allowing you to serve communities throughout Carson City, Daytona, and the Carson Valley.

Dayton Urgent Care
901 Medical Center Drive, Suite 101, Dayton
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; Saturday–Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minden Urgent Care

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate from accredited school as approved by the Nevada State Board of Nursing for Advanced Practitioner of Nursing (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants (ARC-PA).
• American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) recognized board certification or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification.
• Active and unrestricted Advanced Practitioner of Nursing (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) licensure in the State of Nevada.
• Possess a DEA licensure and Nevada controlled substance license.
• Medical Staff privileges at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.

Preferred

• Previous professional experience as an APRN or a PA.
• Clinic experience.

Essential Functions

• Takes medical histories and performs physical examinations, utilizing diagnostic techniques.
• Evaluates physical signs, symptoms and medical history to assess patient’s physical condition. Documents patient history and physical examination information clearly and concisely for physician review.
• Orders appropriate laboratory and radiology tests, prescribes pharmaceuticals, and provides treatment options to patients using best judgement of medical decision‑making.
• Performs minor surgical procedures such as incising and draining superficial abscesses and removal of foreign bodies.
• Analyze the results of ordered tests and provide treatments for follow‑up care as needed.
• Initiates and facilitates patient referrals to other physicians, clinics and health care facilities, using clinic/ hospital procedures and completes appropriate paperwork.
• Ensures all medical documentation, orders and prescriptions must go through the electronic health record (EHR).
• Complete documentation and sign off on patient charts within two business days of the time of service.
• Respond to patient portal messages within two business days, if applicable to the department.
• Participation in meetings during non‑patient contact hours as requested by administration.
• Responsible for finding coverage for working personal in‑basket in the EHR when on leave, if applicable to the department.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
