The City of Alexandria, Department of Transportation and Environmental Services, Stormwater Management Division is seeking a Stormwater Management Planner (Urban Planner III) to review development plans for compliance with stormwater and Chesapeake Bay requirements. You will coordinate with developers, planners, and engineers to ensure quality designs and timely reviews.

Responsibilities include evaluating complex site plans, preparing written reports for the City Manager and Planning

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in urban or regional planning or related field.
• Virginia DEQ Stormwater Plan Reviewer Certification or ability to obtain within six months.
• Five years of relevant planning experience or two years with a Master's degree.
• Experience reading and interpreting complex regulations and plans.

Responsabilités

• Review construction site development and grading plans for stormwater compliance.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including developers, for plan design changes.
• Prepare written documents and oral reports for the City Manager, Boards, and City Council.
• Represent the department at Planning Commission, City Council, and public forums.
