Job summary

Universal Creighton in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Literacy Coach to provide instructional coaching to teachers and lead data-driven improvement across classrooms. The role also supports student outcomes through targeted small-group instruction and collaboration with administrators.

The coach will observe, model, and co-teach lessons, design units, analyze data to inform instruction, and supervise assessment processes as part of school-wide improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and Valid PA Certification in the specific subject area.
• Minimum 3 years of teaching in the subject area.
• Acceptable criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.
• Understanding of Pennsylvania core standards and best practices in curriculum design.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and enthusiasm for instructional coaching.
• Ability to apply data analysis, new strategies, and evaluation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Observe and coach teachers to improve instructional planning and practice.
• Provide small-group instruction for intervention and enrichment as needed.
• Collaborate with staff to align curriculum and develop year-long pacing and assessments.
• Lead and participate in professional development for staff and new teachers.
• Monitor student achievement data and recommend supports and interventions.
• Work with administrators to implement instructional policies and structures.
• Assist in using 21st Century learning techniques and Common Core transition.
