Job summary

ReNEW Schools in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Literacy Coach to partner with teachers and school leaders to strengthen literacy instruction across K–8. The role emphasizes modeling evidence-based practices aligned with the science of reading and facilitating job-embedded professional learning grounded in data.

The coach will support MTSS, develop schoolwide reading plans, and monitor progress through regular data collection and reporting. A strong background in instructional coaching is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Expertise in evidence-based instructional practices aligned with science of reading.
• Experience in instructional coaching.
• Indiana Teacher’s License with Early Literacy Endorsement for elementary coaches.

Responsibilities

• Participate in professional learning approved by the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE).
• Collaborate with the Office of Literacy.
• Coach educators in K–8 by modeling evidence-based instructional practices aligned with science of reading.
• Facilitate job-embedded professional learning based on data and aligned with science of reading.
• Use data to inform instructional planning and make recommendations for groups and individuals.
• Create coaching plans, goals, and action items to monitor improvement.
• Support MTSS framework across tiers and ensure data is collected and used for decisions.
• Collaborate with school leaders to model continuous learning and leadership in literacy.
