Job summary

Columbia Land Trust is seeking a Backyard Habitat Certification Program Operations Manager to lead day-to-day program operations and ensure successful delivery of BHCP across the Vancouver metro region. The role partners with Bird Alliance of Oregon to manage budgets, contracts, and site visits, while guiding program strategy and staff supervision.

Qualifications

• Background in land stewardship, urban conservation, forestry, biology, ecology or indigenous knowledge; 3–5 years preferred.
• Strong relationship-building with partners and stakeholders.
• Experience drafting contracts and budgeting sheets.
• Ability to convert details from contracts and grants into actionable work plans.
• Strong written and verbal communication for funders, partners, participants, and community members.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data management workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational execution of BHCP in partnership with BAO and Land Trust leadership.
• Manage program budget, contracts, and grants from RFPs to compliance.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, site visits, and collaboration with partners.
• Supervise two direct reports and provide mentorship and performance reviews.
• Develop outreach and fundraising strategies with program leadership.
• Ensure timely reporting and coordination with Stewardship Director.
