The City of Charles Town is hiring a Long Range Planner to join the Community Development team. This exempt, non-supervisory role focuses on long-range planning, comprehensive updates, demographic reporting, and coordination with city officials and the public.

The planner will support zoning, SALDO, annexations, and walkability initiatives while coordinating with GIS staff and the zoning administrator. Reporting to the Community Development Director.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in planning, urban planning, environmental studies, landscape architecture or closely related field; Master's desirable; AICP may substitute for Master's.
• Four (4) years of planning or related experience in Community Development or related field.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare annual updates to the Comprehensive Plan and review related actions.
• Identify enhancements to planning procedures, codes, guidelines, and SALDO policies.
• Conduct Zoning Map Amendments; COAs; analyze annexation areas and historic overlays.
• Review development applications for completeness and conformance with plans and policies.
• Coordinate with the Director on project redesigns and plan revisions; present data to stakeholders.
• Lead staff reports, graphics, and presentations; analyze legislation and provide recommendations.
