Job summary

Charles County Government’s Department of Planning and Growth Management seeks a GIS Program Manager to lead a small GIS team, align operations, and turn geospatial data into actionable decisions. You will partner with planners, engineers, permitting professionals, technology specialists, and County staff to build a connected, standardized GIS environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Remote Sensing, Planning, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible geographic information systems experience.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises GIS staff and project teams; assigns, prioritizes, directs, and reviews work to meet priorities and deadlines.
• Provides training, development, and performance guidance to staff; monitors performance and takes corrective action when needed.
• Manages day-to-day operation of the GIS program and aligns priorities with department goals.
