Job summary

The City of Clarksville seeks an experienced forestry professional to develop, implement and monitor a city-wide tree plan on municipal property and rights of way. The role includes inventory, planting, maintenance and removal, plus training grounds staff in pruning and care.

The incumbent will support community education, maintain Tree City USA status, coordinate TAEP grants, and prepare reports while maintaining an accurate municipal tree inventory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Arboriculture, or Horticulture.
• Four years of forest management or arboriculture experience.
• Possession of International Society of Arboriculture Certification.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor forestry plans for city property and rights of way.
• Instruct grounds maintenance staff in tree trimming, removal and care.
• Coordinate public education programs on tree care and stewardship.
• Maintain City Tree City USA certification and Growth Award annually.
• Maintain and apply for yearly TAEP grants for tree planting and maintenance.
• Prepare technical documentation, plans and reports; maintain inventory.
