Qualifications

• Teaching experience in urban upper elementary or middle school.
• Familiarity with reading and writing teaching strategies.
• Ability to design activities and instructional materials.
• Strong communication skills.
• New Jersey K-6 certification (or in process).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with co-teachers to plan or implement lessons aligned with Discovery's priorities: exploration, craftsmanship, equity.
• Provide differentiated instruction through whole-class, small-group, and individualized teaching.
• Deliver push-in and pull-out support for students with special needs.
• Develop accommodations to ensure equitable access to the curriculum.
• Participate in CST meetings and share insights on student progress and interventions.
• Use varied instructional approaches to support diverse learners.
• Communicate with families via website, emails, texts, calls, and meetings to build partnerships.
• Contribute to a positive school culture and participate in ongoing professional development.
