Job summary

Dallas City Hall is seeking a Planner II in the Planning and Development Department, Urban Design Division, to support residential plan review and permitting operations. You will collaborate with Residential Plan Review and Intake teams to provide technical input on construction plans for compliance with zoning and city standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of urban planning principles and practices.
• Understanding of zoning, land use, and development regulations.
• Ability to review architectural plans for compliance with codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare long-range land use and neighborhood improvement studies.
• Analyze proposals for compliance with ordinances and regulations.
• Prepare and present recommendations to City Plan Commission.
• Engage with communities at meetings to solicit feedback.
• Review zoning applications for accuracy and impact on communities.
• Coordinate boundary adjustments and annexation materials.
• Support planning-related programs and provide professional direction.
• Assist in residential plan reviews and permit applications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
