Job summary

RK Logistics Group is seeking a Class C Bobtail/Van Driver in Newark, CA. The role requires a valid Class C license, 2–4 years with bobtail trucks, and a clean DMV record.

You will perform scheduled pickups/deliveries on assigned routes, assist with loading/unloading, and ensure safety and accuracy in documentation and routing. The position demands strong customer service, time management, and the ability to navigate city routes in all weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• 2–4 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related industry.
• Strong math, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Customer-focused with a commitment to quality service.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Intermediate computer proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite required, SAP experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of logistics, shipping, receiving, and transportation operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily vehicle inspections, fueling, and cargo securement per DOT and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate records, including driver logs and delivery documentation.
• Execute assigned delivery routes and assist with pick-ups or drop-offs as needed.
• Support route coverage in the absence of other drivers and assist with loadouts for safe operations.
• Communicate delays, safety concerns, or vehicle issues promptly to supervisor.
• Keep vehicle and terminal area clean and compliant with safety standards.
• Demonstrate urgency and commitment to customer service.
• Apply DOT knowledge and safe driving practices in all weather/traffic conditions.
• Contribute to route planning and adjustments based on traffic/weather.
