Job summary

North Central Missouri College's TRIO Program Upward Bound is seeking a motivated college student to join as a Tutor-Mentor for afterschool tutoring sessions. The role may include in-office tasks, with a pay rate of $15 per hour.

The Tutor-Mentor will provide Math and English tutoring for grades 9–12, travel with staff to local high schools, assist with administrative duties, and help create content for social media and program materials. Work-study eligibility is not required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at NCMC.
• Strong proficiency in Math and English.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable and able to travel to local high schools with program staff.
• Experience with social media and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Preference will be given to students from low-income backgrounds or who are first-generation college students.

Position Overview

The TRIO Program Upward Bound at NCMC is seeking a motivated and dedicated college student to join our team as a Tutor-Mentor for afterschool tutoring sessions. Other time may be spent providing in-office assistance. This role is ideal for a current college student who is interested in helping disadvantaged high school students succeed academically and personally. Both those students who are work study eligible and not work study eligible will be considered. $15 per hour
