Job summary

Waubonsee Community College is seeking a qualified Upward Bound Peer Tutor to support high school students with academic tutoring in one-on-one and group settings. Tutors have a consistent weekly schedule and may assist with monthly field trips and other Upward Bound activities.

The position is student-based, grant funded, and offers flexible scheduling during the Fall and Spring semesters with hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student at an accredited institution.
• Proficient in tutoring subject area.
• Must complete a background check.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• GPA of 2.0 or above required.
• Must be in good standing with student conduct.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to high school students in one-on-one and group settings.
• Maintain a consistent weekly tutoring schedule based on availability.
• Assist with monthly field trips and Upward Bound activities.

Upward Bound is seeking qualifiedpeer tutorsto provide academic support to high school students in both one-on-one and group settings. Peer tutors are assigned a consistent weekly schedule of one or more days based on their availability. Flexible scheduling options are available to accommodate college and work schedules. Additional paid shifts may also be available to assist with monthly field trips and other Upward Bound activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at an accredited institution.
• Proficient in tutoring subject area.
• Must complete a background check.
• Must be 18 or over
• Must maintain a GPA or 2.0 or above
• Must be in good standing with student conduct
