Job summary

Moraine Valley Community College’s TRiO/Upward Bound program seeks an instructional staff member for Math, Science, or English to support Upward Bound students at the Education Center in Blue Island. This role is part-time and grant-funded, with afternoon hours Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities include delivering basic skills instruction, planning and evaluating curriculum, guiding students in academic and career goal-setting, and sharing experiences in classroom presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a teaching field.
• At least three years secondary or college teaching experience.
• Ability to address diverse learning styles in the classroom.
• Energetic, creative and enthusiastic in the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate curriculum for the assigned class.
• Assist students with academic and career goal-setting and planning.
• Provide role modeling and share experiences in classroom presentations/discussions.
• Chaperoning field trips is optional, but not required. Training will be required.
