Job summary

St. Louis Community College seeks TRIO Upward Bound High School Teachers to provide guidance, instruction, and support during academic sessions in math, English, science, and languages.

The role includes Saturday sessions and a six-week summer program to engage students through project-based learning and cross-cultural content. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with teaching certification or a Master’s degree in the subject area, plus at least two years of related teaching experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with teaching certification in the subject area; or Master’s degree in subject matter to be taught.
• Two (2) years’ teaching or related experience.
• Experience working in programs that support youth from underrepresented student populations.

Responsibilities

• Develop syllabi and lesson plans for the subject area to be taught.
• Develop and deliver a curriculum that addresses academic objectives.
• Submit daily attendance reports.
• Submit assignments for review and documentation.
• Attend orientation and onboarding sessions, awards programs, and other program events.
• Attend staff meetings to evaluate student progress and determine improvement strategies.
• Prepare weekly progress reports and submit to the Manager of TRIO Upward Bound.
• Submit curriculum evaluation to improve program services.
• Provide feedback to students to enhance academic growth.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
