Job summary

Washington State University Tri-Cities Upward Bound, Yakima County, is seeking an Academic Program Coordinator to implement an intensive college-readiness program for high school students and families.

You will provide academic and career advising, coordinate services at target high schools, maintain regular student contact, and develop individualized academic service plans that support student success and preparation for college.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional work experience in student services or related field; Master’s may substitute for one year.
• Two years full-time experience in advising or teaching high school students.
• Experience working with complex records and databases.
• Willingness to travel overnight and work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, with occasional supervision of students.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and career advising to high school students and families.
• Coordinate services at target high schools and maintain regular student contact.
• Develop individualized academic service plans to support student success and college preparation.
• Assist with college applications, study skills, test prep, parent workshops, student events, and college tours.
• Plan and implement a six-week Summer Academy and travel as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s degree and two years professional work experience in student services
