Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Syracuse, NY is seeking an UPW/Water Systems Operations Engineer to oversee ultra-pure water and industrial water systems across the expansion project, from design through commissioning and startup.

You will review P&IDs and equipment specs, collaborate with design teams and contractors, and support validation activities, PLC/SCADA/BIM workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance and system reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in UPW or industrial water systems engineering with third-party design oversight.
• Familiarity with SEMI standards, ASME/BPE piping, Clean Water Act regulations, and enviro rules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee third-party design partners for UPW, water reclamation, pretreatment, RO, degasification, and distribution systems.
• Review P&IDs, equipment specs, layouts and deliverables for compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with design teams, contractors, vendors and stakeholders to align designs with objectives and schedules.
• Support construction, commissioning, testing, startup and system validation activities including PLC/SCADA/BIM workflows.
• Perform technical evaluations and risk assessments to ensure reliability, constructability, and readiness.
