Job summary

LotusWorks is seeking a motivated Waste/UPW Operations & Maintenance Technician Intern to support critical water systems in a semiconductor or mission-critical facility. You will gain hands-on experience with UPW generation, distribution, and wastewater treatment while working with experienced technicians in a highly regulated setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Enrollment in or recent completion of a technical program in mechanical, environmental field preferred.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
• Exposure to semiconductor, data center, pharmaceutical environments is advantageous.
• Familiarity with CMMS (Maximo) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support daily UPW generation and distribution systems under supervision.
• Assist in operating and monitoring wastewater treatment systems and neutralization.
• Record key parameters (conductivity, pH, flow, levels) and monitor system readings.
• Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps, valves, filters, and membranes.
• Assist with chemical handling and dosing per SDS requirements.
• Support system flushing, regeneration, and sanitization of UPW systems.
• Troubleshoot issues like fouling, scaling, and pump failures.
• Participate in safety programs and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Maintain CMMS documentation and observe vendor activities.
• Engage in EHS initiatives focused on safety and water conservation.
