Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Water Treatment Specialist for Starlink manufacturing sites in Texas. You will own and optimize UPW and wastewater processes, monitor equipment performance, and drive continuous improvements for high-volume production.

The role requires hands-on experience with RO/EDI, water treatment, and safety protocols, plus collaboration across engineering and production teams. Shift work and strict safety standards apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in UPW production and/or industrial wastewater treatment (semiconductor, pharma, electronics)
• Strong knowledge of water chemistry, ion exchange, RO/EDI systems and wastewater technologies
• Ability to read and understand P&ID and schematic wiring diagrams
• Experience with lock out-tag out, job hazard analysis, and hot work permitting
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience using MES/ERP and working in manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

• Monitor UPW systems (RO, EDI, UV, filtration) and troubleshoot issues
• Oversee wastewater treatment processes (neutralization, evaporators, crystallizers)
• Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on pumps, valves, sensors, membranes, controls
• Define water-quality sampling and data-logging requirements
• Respond to alarms and minimize downtime to improve system availability
• Collaborate with manufacturing, EHS, and engineering to optimize water usage and sustainability
• Ensure adherence to OSHA/EPA safety protocols and LOTO requirements
• Create/maintain operating procedures with engineers and technicians
• Maintain hardware inventory and procures spares
• Identify continuous-improvement opportunities for uptime and quality
• Handle chemicals safely and maintain 5S in the workspace
• Work with teams to implement fluid and mechanical designs in the field
