Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Process Engineer to join the upstream operations team in East London. The role focuses on optimizing oil and gas production facilities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance.

You will troubleshoot issues, implement process improvements, and support plant modifications in a collaborative team environment, gaining hands-on experience in critical upstream operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably upstream oil & gas.
• Familiarity with process simulation software and P&ID development.
• Understanding of process safety principles and hazardous area classifications.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze process performance data to identify areas for improvement.
• Troubleshoot operational problems and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and uptime.
• Develop scopes of work for minor modifications and capital projects related to process systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Support the commissioning and start‑up of new or modified process equipment.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and other engineering disciplines to achieve operational goals.
