Job summary

Plantible is seeking an Upstream Project Engineer to own the engineering and field execution of systems that grow, cultivate, harvest, and deliver Lemna biomass to downstream processing. You will bridge Plantible’s agricultural and process experts with design and construction teams on greenhouse structures, water and nutrient delivery, harvest, and utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
• 5–10+ years supporting industrial, agricultural, or controlled‑environment capital projects through design and field execution.
• Experience with commercial greenhouse construction, controlled‑environment agriculture, irrigation or water systems, or large‑scale repetitive construction.
• Experience coordinating civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, equipment vendors, contractors, and internal technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into clear scopes and deliverables for external engineering partners and vendors.
• Coordinate disciplines including process, mechanical, piping, civil, structural, electrical, controls, and facility infrastructure.
• Lead design reviews with Plantible SMEs, Operations, and external engineers.
• Develop scopes, equipment lists, and utility requirements; review layouts and drawings.
• Plan for commissioning and startup; coordinate FATs, SATs, and operator training.
• Act onsite during construction to verify progress and drive issue resolution.
