Job summary

Plantible Foods is seeking a Downstream Project Engineer to own the engineering and field execution of systems that turn harvested biomass into high‑quality products. You will bridge process experts with design and construction teams to deliver scalable, hygienic downstream operations.

You will lead design reviews, ensure safety and operability, and drive vendor management from FEED to startup, including FAT/SAT and commissioning. Based in Austin, TX, onsite collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process, Bioprocess or related engineering discipline.
• 5–10+ years on industrial capital projects in hygienic process‑manufacturing environments.
• Direct experience with downstream unit operations and integration.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering and field execution of systems receiving biomass and converting to products.
• Coordinate disciplines: process, mechanical, piping, civil, electrical, controls, and site infrastructure.
• Lead design reviews and challenge safety, operability, and hygienic design.
• Develop scopes for equipment and manage vendor drawings, FAT/SAT, and commissioning.
• Maintain interfaces and drive issues to resolution during construction and startup.
