Ryan Specialty is seeking an Energy Underwriter in Houston to manage a portfolio of Energy accounts and drive new and renewal business opportunities. The role focuses on upstream Oil & Gas risks and works under senior underwriting guidance to evaluate exposures and determine coverage terms and pricing.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years of underwriting or related insurance experience, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and strong analytical, organizational, and client-relations skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of commercial underwriting experience in Energy or related Property & Casualty insurance.
• Experience underwriting upstream Oil & Gas sector preferred.

Responsabilités

• Support underwriting of new and renewal Energy business with a primary focus on upstream Oil & Gas risks.
• Review submissions, applications, loss runs, engineering reports, and supporting documentation to evaluate risk quality.
• Assist in analyzing coverage requests, policy forms, endorsements, and underwriting information per guidelines.
• Evaluate risk characteristics, operational hazards, loss history, and financial information to determine acceptance/modification/decline.
• Support development of pricing, coverage terms, conditions, and limits based on analysis and market conditions.
• Collaborate with senior underwriters to maintain a profitable upstream Energy portfolio and service brokers and clients.
