Job summary

Amgen is hiring a Manager Manufacturing (Upstream) for the Night Shift in Holly Springs, NC. You will lead a 12-hour night shift team, drive safety, quality, and on-time production of GMP drug substance, and mentor staff in Lean and continuous improvement.

The role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and hands-on operations experience to meet short- and long-term Amgen goals in a high-demand biopharmaceutical environment.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master’s with manufacturing/ops experience and leadership.
• Bachelor’s with 5+ years manufacturing/operations and prior supervision.
• Associate degree with 10 years manufacturing/ops and management.
• High school diploma / GED with 12 years manufacturing/ops and management.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-shift manufacturing team, ensuring safe, compliant operations.
• Drive Lean and continuous improvement on the floor.
• Supervise, coach, hire and develop staff.
• Set area objectives and drive short- and long-term goals.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead changes.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Facilities & Engineering, PPIC, Regulatory.
• Ensure adherence to production schedule and maintenance.
• Develop CAPAs and resolve on-the-floor problems.
