Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Process Engineer to join a leading biotechnology manufacturing organization. This role provides hands-on support for upstream manufacturing operations focusing on equipment performance, production support, and technical troubleshooting within a GMP environment.

The ideal candidate has a chemical engineering background, 6+ years of regulated manufacturing experience, and hands-on experience with stainless steel bioprocess equipment, DeltaV controls, and automation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field (Chemical Engineering preferred).
6+ years of experience in regulated manufacturing process engineering.
Experience with stainless steel bioprocess equipment (bioreactors, tanks, filtration).
Strong troubleshooting of process controls, DO, pH, temperature, and automation.
Familiarity with DeltaV and process troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Own media preparation equipment and support upstream processing across bioreactors, harvest systems, and inoculum equipment.
Investigate and resolve manufacturing challenges involving process performance, equipment functionality, controls, and production execution.
Support commercial manufacturing with real-time guidance and equipment readiness.
Lead deviation investigations, change control, CAPA, and root cause analyses related to process equipment.
Collaborate with maintenance, automation, instrumentation, and manufacturing teams to optimize equipment reliability.
