Job summary

Eli Lilly and Company, headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, seeks an Advisor for upstream process development in bioproduct manufacturing. You will lead cell line development, optimize culture processes, and author regulatory sections.

The role interfaces with BR&D, Discovery, and Manufacturing teams to ensure robust, scalable processes. You will transfer processes to pilot and manufacturing sites, design experiments, troubleshoot, and contribute to regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

PhD in Microbiology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related STEM with 0–3 years pharma/biotech experience.
Strong knowledge of cell biology, culture, and recombinant protein expression.
Excellent experimental design, data interpretation, and independent work ability.

Responsibilities

Design and execute upstream development experiments for bioproduct APIs.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting and drive innovation with new ideas.
Collaborate with BR&D, Discovery and Manufacturing groups on process development.
Support transfer of cell culture processes to pilot plant and manufacturing sites.
Prepare technical reports and regulatory documents.
Engage external partners on collaborations and outsourcing efforts.
Contribute to department goals and enable ongoing scientific activity.
Present at conferences and publish results as appropriate.
