Job summary

The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is seeking a courteous host/hostess to create a memorable first impression for dining guests. You will greet guests, offer seating options, escort to tables, present menus, and coordinate seating with the team.

You will maintain the dining room setup, log daily communications, manage reservations for events, and ensure smooth operations across shifts. Strong communication and guest-service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet guests upon arrival, offer seating choices, and escort to tables.
• Present menus and coordinate seating arrangements.
• Read, maintain, and log daily communications between shifts and management.
• Maintain proper dining room setup and appearance.
• Receive records and arrange reservations and special functions.
• Adhere to attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
