Job summary

Vanderbilt Hotel LLC is seeking a Restaurant Host to uphold a welcoming atmosphere from arrival to departure. You will greet guests, manage seating and reservations, and coordinate with staff to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires strong English communication, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to obtain relevant hospitality certifications. A flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, is expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service or hospitality, preferably in a high-end setting.
  • Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and fluency in English.
  • Must meet state requirements to serve alcohol.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain applicable state/local certifications such as food handler/alcohol training.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly, provide courteous service, and manage check-ins and seating.
  • Answer phones, take reservations, and record orders in reservation systems.
  • Coordinate with restaurant/pool staff to optimize guest placements and avoid overbooking.
  • Assist with station charts, assign stations, and guide servers and staff on table setup.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and work areas.
  • Update guest profiles, VIP arrivals, and special requests in the system.
  • Keep menus and wine lists clean, up-to-date, and well-stocked.
  • Resolve guest complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction.
  • Familiarize yourself with hotel services and local attractions for guest inquiries.
  • Collaborate with F&B management to set a positive restaurant tone.
