Job summary

Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen in Uptown is seeking a Host who embodies warmth, professionalism, and hospitality. You will be the first contact for guests, setting the tone for the dining experience with calm confidence and attentive service.

This role supports front-of-house operations, seating flow, reservations via OpenTable, and opening/closing routines, with evening shifts and opportunities for mentorship and growth within the Noble Food and Pursuits family.

Qualifications

• Experience in a polished dining environment preferred but not required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage guests warmly.
• Ability to stay calm and guest focused during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism to set the dining tone.
• Prepare and organize menus for lunch, brunch, and dinner so the dining room is ready.
• Seat guests with intention to support smooth service flow.
• Manage reservations and takeout orders through OpenTable.
• Maintain an orderly host stand to ensure a polished first impression.
• Communicate clearly with servers, managers, and the kitchen during service.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures to align with Rooster’s standards.

What You’ll Do

• Welcome guests with warmth, genuine attention, and a professional presence that sets the tone for the dining experience
• Prepare and organize the correct menus for lunch, midday, brunch, and dinner so the dining room is fully service ready
• Seat the dining room with intention, using pacing and communication to support a smooth and balanced flow of service
• Manage the reservation book through Opentable, confirming reservations, answering inquiries, and coordinating takeout orders
• Maintain a refined and orderly host stand that creates a polished first impression and supports efficient front door operations
• Communicate clearly with servers, managers, and the kitchen to ensure seamless transitions throughout service
• Support opening and closing procedures to keep the entry experience aligned with Rooster’s standards

What You’ll Bring

• Previous host or guest service experience in a polished dining environment preferred but not required
• Naturally warm communication style and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to stay calm, composed, and guest focused during high volume periods
• Professionalism, reliability, and comfort working evening shifts
• A team first mindset that supports both front and back of house operations
