Job summary

Greenwich Country Day School seeks a Social Sciences Fellow for Grades 9-12, to start in August 2027. The Fellow will teach alongside master teachers in 9th and 10th grade interdisciplinary humanities programs and, in year two, design and teach 11th/12th grade electives across social sciences.

The cohort will be mentored by master teachers and will collaborate with Social Sciences colleagues and the Upper School.

Responsibilities

Instructional responsibility for History or English in assigned grade level(s).
Collaboration with mentor teachers to provide instruction.
Collaboration with advisors, learning specialist teachers, and school psychologist to support individual students' learning needs.
Participation in oversight of progress of each child in the subject area.
Participation in the assessment of all students' progress in both written and verbal reports.
Communication with parents.
Collaboration with colleagues on grade level and interdisciplinary faculty teams, Upper School faculty and staff, and the broader school community.
Supervision of students during recess, lunch, arrival, and dismissal as requested by the Division Head.
Significant participation in the life of the school, including coaching, covering classes as necessary, advising clubs, etc.
