Sayre School is seeking a highly motivated and qualified teacher who desires a professional and fun working environment dedicated to student growth, progress, and achievement. Job Responsibilities And Opportunities Include

  • Teaching classes in Biology, Health, and/or Chemistry with a focus on inquiry-based learning.
  • Preparing students for the next grade level and level of science.
  • Collaborating on course design and lab protocols to be used by colleagues teaching the same course.
  • Integrating technology into the curriculum, especially the use of laptops with microscope cameras and data collection sensors.
  • Working with a group of advisees and supporting the social-emotional needs of students.
  • Serving on and/or leading committees.
  • Working collaboratively within the science department and the Upper School as a whole.
  • Supervision duties.
  • Leading and/or co-leading extracurricular activities.
  • The Science Department has a number of teachers skilled in multiple science disciplines and therefore we welcome candidates who can compliment our teaching flexibility. While we are primarily looking for someone with experience in biology and chemistry, we would also consider strong candidates with teaching backgrounds in Physiology, Health, and/or Environmental Science.
