Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an education-related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of classroom teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience teaching computer science, with specific preference for AP-level computer science, CAD/CAM, and Graphic Design.
  • Knowledge and experience with integrating technology into the classroom.
  • Student-centered, engaging classroom approach; self-starter and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach technology and computer science courses, including AP CS and CAD/CAM.
  • Utilize the Code.org curriculum alongside other supplemental resources to deliver engaging instruction.
  • Provide opportunities for project-based learning and varied, authentic assessments.
  • Support the continued development of technology integration in the curriculum with the Educational Technology department.
  • Serve as an advisor to students and liaison to parents/guardians.
  • Participate in school-wide events, committees, and professional development.
  • Uphold school rules and policies with consistency and clear expectations.
