Upper Elementary Teacher
Reports to – Principal
Plans, organizes, and delivers instruction based on the approved curriculum; monitors and evaluates student progress; maintains records and reports; enforces policies, regulations, and rules; supervises students; and manages school property and materials.

Performance Responsibilities
  1. Instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
  2. Creates a conducive learning environment appropriate for students' maturity and interests.
  3. Guides learning toward curriculum goals and sets objectives for lessons and projects.
  4. Uses appropriate instructional methods and materials, prepares for classes, and documents preparation.
  5. Assists administration in implementing policies and rules, develops classroom behavior rules, maintains order fairly.
  6. Regularly assesses student achievement, provides progress reports, and communicates with parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
  7. Participates in parent/teacher conferences to support student learning.
  8. Maintains accurate records as required by law and policy.
  9. Engages in ongoing professional development and skill upgrading.
  10. Attends staff meetings, serves on committees, and participates in extracurricular activities.
  11. Performs health services duties if trained.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned by the principal or school head.
Physical Demands

The work involves standing or walking, effective communication, and manual tasks. It may include bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, and lifting light weights.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Kentucky certification appropriate for the grade level and curriculum.
