Job description

Southside Christian School is seeking an upper school science teacher to join our vibrant team for the 2025-2026 school year.

Our upper school science teacher must have the knowledge and experience to effectively teach the learning objectives. The science department primarily utilizes BJU textbooks. Experience with that curriculum is helpful but is not required. The position would teach two sections of physical science (9th), two sections of biology (10th), and two sections of chemistry (11th). If scheduling works out, one section of each grade will be an honors section.

Southside Christian School is a discipleship school that hires Christian teachers and enrolls students whose parents have provided a letter of reference from a church of like-faith. We currently have over 100 local churches represented in the student body.

In addition to teaching science, we are seeking teachers with a heart to invest in the lives of students. Our mission is to impact the next generation for Christ by developing intellectual leaders who are developing a Biblical worldview.

The teacher will utilize Curriculum Trak, RenWeb, and the Google Workspace Apps. Training will be provided to ensure the teacher is comfortable with these programs, and the teacher may have the textbooks at the end of May to begin reviewing.

Requirements

- A growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or related field
- ACSI Certification or the ability to obtain ACSI Certification

- A member in good standing at a church with biblical doctrine consistent with Southside Christian's statement of faith
- Previous experience in teaching or mentoring is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to educate and inspire high school students

Pay: $32,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year
