Job summary

City Rescue Mission of Lansing is seeking a Part-Time Production Supervisor for the Uplift Thrift. You will assist with processing donations, sort and price clothing and goods, and oversee a section of the sales floor.

Responsibilities

• Train production staff and ensure best practices are followed.
• Be manager on duty for production staff when the production manager is absent.
• Operate forklift and pallet jack for loading donations with partners.
• Greet and assist donors as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area.
• Sort, price and tag clothing and goods for the sales floor.
• Transport and organize donations, using vehicles and forklift as needed.
• Research specialty/antique items to ensure fair pricing.
• Share the love of Christ and be ready to share the gospel.

The main mission of the City Rescue Mission of Lansing, since its founding, has remained to teach the Word of God as found in the Christian Bible (Romans 10:13-15), edify and equip the saints to be committed followers of Jesus Christ and His teachings (Ephesians 4:11-13), and present an authentic representation of traditional, Biblical Christianity (Philippians 1:9-11). Job Overview:

This role is vital in the running of the Uplift Thrift. The Production Supervisor assists with processing incoming donations, sorts goods and clothing accurately, prices and tags clothing and goods, and oversees, cleans, and re-stocks an assigned area of the sales floor. The Production Supervisor must be able to multitask well and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.

Expected Schedule

Combination of 1st and 2nd – Part Time- Shifts are 10am-6pm and 12pm-8pm. Weekends as scheduled (Rotation).

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist with training production staff members, ensuring best practices are being followed and taught
• Be manager on duty for production staff when the production manager is not present. May also be manager on duty for the customer service staff as needed/assigned.
• Work with recycling partners on loading donations via forklift and pallet jack
• Greet and assist donors as assigned.
• Maintain overall production cleanliness, sorting donations as they come in and organizing as needed.
• Sort, clean, and price clothing and hard goods for sales floor, meeting goals for each category each shift
• Assist with transporting and organizing donations- including use of vehicles and a forklift as necessary
• Research specialty and antique items, ensuring fair pricing. Maintain a working knowledge of antique/rare items.
• Show the love of Christ and be ready to share the gospel

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma- Required
• Familiarity with popular brands, antiques, and general pricing knowledge- Preferred
• Basic Microsoft Suite Experience- e.g. Email, Word Documents- Required
• Forklift Certified or ability to become forklift certified within 90 days of hire- Required

Physical Requirements-

The below listed abilities are required to be able to complete the essential duties of the role: The Production Supervisor will need to be able to constantly lift 25lbs in all directions and will occasionally need to lift up to 50lbs in all directions. They will occasionally need to assist another team member in lifting items over 50lbs. They will need to be able to complete 1-2 hours of physically taxing work without a break and stand or walk for 3 hours without sitting down. They will occasionally need to complete 3 hours of physically taxing work without a break.
