East Texas A&M University’s Lyon Center for Gamebird Research invites applications for a Research Laboratory Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at the Reyna Laboratory for Upland Gamebirds. The ideal candidate will have a biology degree and 2+ years of lab leadership experience, with preference for upland gamebird research.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field.
2+ years of professional laboratory experience with leadership or supervisory duties.
Experience preferred in quail/upland gamebird/avian research laboratory.
Passion for upland gamebird research.

Responsibilities

Supervise, train, and mentor lab technicians.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
Maintain a safe working environment and conduct regular inspections.
Oversee operation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory equipment.
Implement and maintain quality control measures for accurate results.
Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure material availability.
Perform administrative duties such as project management, scheduling, record-keeping, and reporting.
Provide technical support for experiments, coordinate projects, and assist data analysis.
Act as liaison between the lab and other departments, researchers, and clients.
Participate in programmatic and strategic planning for the Reyna Lab and Lyon Center.
Support the Lyon Center and its mission.
