Job summary

The Lyon Center for Gamebird Research at East Texas A&M University is recruiting a Gamebird Production Manager to develop and manage the center’s gamebird production program, oversee staff, and ensure adherence to animal use and safety protocols while producing top-quality gamebirds.

We will provide professional development opportunities, including training, conference attendance, and career counseling, in a university setting dedicated to research, conservation, and outreach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field; 5+ years in poultry/gamebird industry.
• Experience in leadership roles with 3+ years supervising staff.
• Experience producing quail is preferred.
• Strong communication, biosecurity, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day gamebird production operations and staff.
• Develop and implement production SOPs.
• Ensure safety, biosecurity, and compliance.
• Coordinate bird sales and customer interactions.
• Integrate research with production and assist planning.
• Perform administrative tasks and track metrics.
• Lead training and evaluate staff.
