Job summary

Vivvi, Inc. is hiring an Assistant Preschool Teacher to support a 3K/UPK classroom in Brooklyn. This full-time role requires UPK experience and progress toward NYS early childhood certification. You’ll work closely with the Head Teacher to implement play-based curricula and foster growth in 3–4 year-olds.

You’ll engage families, track progress, and contribute to a nurturing, safe classroom that aligns with NYS standards. A strong team culture and professional growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• UPK classroom experience is required.
• Currently pursuing New York State Early Childhood teaching certification (B-2 or N-6).
• 3–5 years of preschool or early childhood teaching experience, preferably in 3K/UPK.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Experience in licensed childcare centers or private preschools.
• Familiarity with play-based learning, emergent/creative curricula, and SEL.
• Strong communication and collaboration within a teaching team.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Responsibilities

• Support the 3K/UPK classroom with creativity, warmth and purpose.
• Assist with implementing developmentally appropriate, play-based curricula.
• Support cognitive, social, and emotional development through SEL and inquiry-based learning.
• Observe and track progress using Teaching Strategies GOLD and similar tools.
• Build strong relationships with children and families and communicate progress.
• Help maintain a safe, organized, nurturing preschool environment.
• Collaborate with Head Teacher and leadership to align with NYS standards and UPK/3K expectations.
• Participate in routines, transitions, small groups, and daily learning experiences.
• Develop skills to grow into a future Head Teacher role.
